Pantone has released a new mobile app which will help you complete your ideal home color palette. Pantone Connect is offering free premium access until July 8th (after that it’s $4.99 a month) and is available both on iOS and Android smartphones. The app lets you look over all of Pantone’s color palettes, which is pretty great from the global authority on all things color.
One of the best features on the Pantone Connect app is its ability to create a personalized color palette based on any picture you upload. Let’s say you’ve got a piece of art earmarked as a centerpiece in your new bedroom design - Pantone Connect will scan a photo of it and pick out some of the most prominent hues. You can even zone in on a specific color to help you identify the right tone for your home using the ‘Extract’ feature.
Pantone connect lets you scroll through and collate your choice of colors, meaning you can see how the colors in your palette match up for potential color combinations. The ‘Harmony’ setting will let you pick a Pantone color and offer up potential combinations. That includes analogous, complimentary, monochromatic, split complementary, triadic, and tetradic color matches. A real dream for any aspiring interior designer.
The ‘Trending’ feature picks out the most popular palettes and groups them. The Autumn/Winter 2020/2021 Classics palette from New York Fashion Week, for example, features ‘Almond Oil’, ‘Blue Depths’, ‘Sleet’, and ‘Military Olive’ tones - you can even save and customize the Palettes to inspire your own on-trend home updates. It’ll make a great pairing with the best home design software and best interior design software.
