Yep, the Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum (IZ862H) is discounted to $349.99 from $499.99 at Shark. While I appreciate that it's not one of the cheapest vacuum cleaners you can buy, it does last. After almost two years, I'm still using my review sample, and it's still going strong.

Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum: key features

The Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum is an innovative piece of kit with some features that I hadn't ever used before at the time of review.

Most of the innovation is packed into the floorhead. It has been bolstered with Clean Sense IQ, which has an indicator to visually show when power has been increased and when the floor is clean again. The floorhead also has odor-neutralizer technology that is made up of an intensity dial and a cartridge. A twin pack of replacement cartridges can be bought for $14.99 from the Shark website. This tech (the odor-neutralizer) gently releases a fresh scent when vacuuming and eliminates any bad odors in the 0.18-gallon / 0.7L dust canister.

A feature I haven't seen on any other vacuum cleaner thus far is the 'MultiFlex technology' on the stick wand. While it's nothing new per se because plenty of other wands can bend under furniture, they can be folded over for storing. This also meant that when it was on the test, I could charge the Stratos without removing the battery - a major plus point where space is more limited or if time never seems to be on your side (like me) and you want to do something quickly.
