One of the best food mixers can save time and labor and make baking more enjoyable. The Kenwood Go Stand Mixer lives up to expectations with its powerful motor, intuitive controls, and usability.
Part of Kenwood's Go collection, it is designed to be compact enough to fit into smaller kitchens. Plus, with its built-in handle, it's super portable and easy to stow away in a cabinet if you don't want to keep it on the counter.
In this article, I will reveal my findings after testing the appliance at home for a month, examining its value for money, design and features, performance, and pros and cons.

Kenwood KZM35.000GY Go Stand Mixer: Setup
The Kenwood Go Stand Mixer is incredibly well packaged. It comes in a thick cardboard box with protective packaging inside. Each item is wrapped in plastic, and the components are well organized. The mixer also comes with a user manual and safety guide.
Inside the box is everything you need: the mixer, which was easy to lift out thanks to its built-in handle, the three tools, and a splash guard.
I just had to plug the mixer into a power socket and add the desired accessory to get started. At first, I wasn't sure how to attach the splashguard, but I soon figured it out after a quick look at the manual.
I quickly washed the stainless steel bowl with soapy water before clicking it back into place. The appliance's front-facing controls make it easier to operate.

Kenwood KZM35.000GY Go Stand Mixer: Design & Features
I'm a big fan of Kenwood products. I already own the brand's washing machine and fridge freezer, synonymous with high-quality design. The Go Stand Mixer is no exception. It's modern but nods to the retro with its classic design and muted color scheme (Storm Blue or Clay Red, pale blue, and rose gold to you and me). I've been reviewing the Storm Blue model, which looks brilliant in my kitchen.
It's compact and smaller than standard mixers, making it ideal for smaller kitchens as it doesn't take up too much counter space. At 11.8 inches tall, it is about 1.9" smaller than its big sister, the Kenwood kMix, and it's a lot lighter, too (6.3kg vs. 9.1kg). It's designed to be portable, and the meaty built-in handle and dimensions meant I could easily move it from my kitchen cabinet to the counter when I wanted to use it.
Another thing I love about this appliance is that it's multipurpose and can be used with other Kenwood gadgets, like the personal blender from the Kenwood Multipro OneTouch food processor. You can attach the mini blender to the stand mixer by removing the lid to make smoothies or blend liquids for baking.
It is also well-built and is made from durable and lightweight metal. All the components feel sturdy.
It has a powerful 800W motor and a decent 4L capacity stainless steel bowl, which Kenwood says can make up to 48 cupcakes, pizza for four, or a two-tier cake.
It comes with three tools—a K-beater, a stainless steel whisk, and a dough hook—all adjustable so they can reach the bottom of the bowl. The mixer also has a rotatable splashguard, which is handy if you want to use it without the risk of getting messy. The splash guard also has a built-in measuring spoon.

Kenwood KZM35.000GY Go Stand Mixer: Performance
It may be small, but the Kenwood Go is mighty and impressive. From whipping cream to kneading olive bread dough, it has six-speed settings, including a helpful pulse feature.
It has an automatic shut-off feature to prevent overheating and powering down if the mixer runs at a single setting for too long.
One thing worth mentioning is the bowl's 4-liter capacity. This makes it better suited to small to medium-batch baking, so if you want something to make larger cakes or items, you might need a more significant appliance.
In testing, I used the dough tool to knead my bread, and it was done in under five minutes with seriously less elbow grease! Next, I used the whisk to whip egg whites for vanilla meringues. Again, they were perfect peaks in just a matter of minutes. I also creamed butter and sugar for vanilla cookies with the K-beater, and this was efficient and ready to mix in with the dry ingredients in just 30 seconds. Usually, this is a tedious job by hand, so I was pleasantly surprised at how labor-saving this was.
I'm impressed by how versatile and fast this appliance is. It is attached to other Kenwood products, such as the personal blender from the Kenwood Multipro OneTouch food processor.
I also love how easy it is to attach and detach the tools. They all click into place and stay solidly in place. Another notable draw is that it's quiet and produces no distracting sounds.
I used the whisk to whip egg whites to make vanilla meringues for my daughters. I was impressed by how quickly it formed stiff peaks. I also like that you can easily lift the main shaft to remove the bowl and whisk without getting covered in ingredients.
As someone who never makes bread, I think this might now change, given how ridiculously easy it is with the Kenwood Go. I made olive bread (my youngest daughter's favorite) and used the dough tool to get started.
It took under five minutes to knead the bread mix into the desired consistency, and it was easy to detach the dough hook ready to wash it, too.
I tested the Kenwood Go by creaming sugar and butter for my cookie dough, and it did not disappoint. I used the high-speed setting, and the ingredients were creamed in under 30 seconds, with a perfectly smooth consistency.

Kenwood KZM35.000GY Go Stand Mixer: Care & maintenance
The safety guide has cleaning instructions, and Kenwood recommends switching off and unplugging the appliance before you start.
Wash any grease stains off the exterior and feet with a clean, damp cloth.
The stainless steel bowl is dishwasher safe, or you can clean it by hand. Never use a wire brush, steel wool, or bleach to clean it. Vinegar can remove limescale. The tools and splashguard are also dishwasher-friendly, or they can be washed by hand and then dried thoroughly to prevent water spots.
To maintain the longevity of your stand mixer, check for wear and tear and replace any worn parts. If the motor overheats or makes an unusually loud noise, unplug the machine immediately. Ideally, get your mixer serviced regularly, especially if used frequently, as routine maintenance can significantly extend its lifespan.
The stand mixer is small enough to store on your counter if you have space or keep it in a kitchen cabinet. The handle makes it easy to move around.

Kenwood KZM35.000GY Go Stand Mixer: Price & Value
The Kenwood Go Stand Mixer costs $285 in the US and £249.99 in the UK. It's available from Kenwood, Amazon, and other major retailers.
It's about half the price of a standard-size stand mixer, but bear in mind that it is smaller. Considering its versatility, quality, and brand reputation, I would say it is good value for money.
