How to light a propane heater

"I advise many of my clients to install a patio heater to extend the enjoyment of their outdoor space as far as possible in the winter season,” he adds.

1. Choose a suitable location
It may seem obvious, but it’s essential to position your patio heater in an unenclosed space, or you risk a nasty case of carbon monoxide poisoning. Make sure the patio heater is on a non-flammable surface, such as concrete.
2. Connect the heater and the fuel source
Open the valve cap. Place the regulator inside to connect the propane tank and the heater.
3. Open the valve
Open the valve fully to allow the gas to flow through it.
4. Ignite
With high-end models, you may be able to ignite your heater at the press of a button. Otherwise, hold a lighted match in the meshed area of the regulator. A top tip is to use a long-handled version to avoid burning your fingers. Press the shut-off valve button for about 45 seconds after it lights.
