Character Animator is a fun animation program that allows you to use motion capture on pre-created character puppets.

CrazyTalk Animator by Reallusion is great 2D animation software for both artists and those who don’t have drawing skills.

We found MOHO Debut to be a relatively easy animation program to learn and use. Since it is compatible with drawing tablets, it made it easier to sketch out our ideas. It also offers plenty of premade character options, so you don’t have to be an artist in order to use it.

Digicel’s FlipBook cartoon maker software uses time-honored cel animation methods to create your animation masterpieces and is designed with the traditional animation artist in mind.

Adobe Animate CC is the rebranded version of Adobe Flash. It gives you access to professional-level drawing and animation tools so you can get the exact look you want from your work. We were able to use bone rigging and animation paths to quickly animate scenes.

Stopmotion Studio is different than most of the other 2D animation programs we tested since it focuses on animating physical objects instead of hand-drawn characters.
