If you're looking for the best Black Friday Roomba deals, this discount on Amazon should be right up your street: you can get a whopping $250 off the iRobot Roomba Combo i5+, down from $549 to just $299.

I moved house a few months ago, and one of the things I really miss about the old place was having a robot vacuum cleaner: my trusty iRobot Roomba Combo did a brilliant job not just vacuuming up after my dog and kids but also mopping the kitchen floor. Sadly, the layout of my new place is too cluttered to be robot-friendly, which means I'll have to live vicariously by recommending robots to you instead.

I like the iRobot Roomba range. They're compact enough to clean under sofas, quiet enough not to frighten the dog, and clever enough to empty themselves so I don't have to lift a finger for weeks. This particular Roomba is a double delight thanks to its dual-cleaning system that mops and vacuums.

With $250 off, this looks like a brilliant bargain. We've spent our own cash money on iRobots, including the Combo models, and they do a great job of vacuuming and mopping. The iRobot app is nice and simple, too.

One of the big selling points here, other than the mopping, is that this is a self-emptying cleaner. When it's full or done cleaning, it returns to its perch and empties its dust into the cleaning station. It has enough capacity to last nearly two months between emptying, which is great.

We think this particular iRobot is a really good all-rounder. It doesn't have the advanced mapping of the most expensive Roombas, but it's efficient, effective, and Alexa compatible, too.

iRobot Roomba i5+ Combo: why we like this cool cleaner

The big selling point of this vacuum deal is the Combo mops and vacuums, which are ideal if you have hard and covered floors like us. Turning it from a robot into a Robomop—now there's a movie idea for you—is just a matter of swapping out the dust bin for the mopping reservoir, and the microfiber pad does a good job on wood and tiled floors alike.

It's good on dirt, too. The i5+ has a four-stage cleaning system with rubber brushes designed for multi-surface use. They're designed to avoid tangling from long hair and pet hair alike.

This is the full system, so you also get the self-cleaning bin system. That means when your Roomba has finished cleaning, it doesn't just recharge itself. It also empties the bin and is ready for the next clean. That means up to 60 days of human-free operation. And because it works with Alexa, it's hands-free, too.
