The ability to buy contacts online has made wearing contacts more affordable and accessible for many, and now the industry is shifting again. Subscription services for contacts are becoming more popular. With the rise of contacts subscriptions, trusted eyewear website GlassesUSA.com has introduced Vista plus, a new daily contacts lenses brand set at a $32 per month subscription rate.

GlassesUSA.com Vista plus: Key specs

Number per pack: 30

Free delivery: Yes

Returns policy: Free returns within the first 30 days after receiving the order

Subscription option: 30, 60, or 90-day subscriptions available

Although $32 per month isn’t exactly cheap (bringing up the total to $384 per year), it can be cheaper than getting contacts through your eye doctor or buying six months to a year’s supply of contacts at once. The subscription service can also be a money-saver in that you’re able to pause your subscription at any time. So if you’re someone who doesn’t wear contacts every day and a 30-day supply can get you through two or three months, you can pause your subscription until you need a new set of contacts.

The Vista plus contacts are comparable to many other daily contact lenses brands. Vista plus promises UV protection, maximum moisture, all-day hydration, and to reduce irritation caused by extended screen time. For comparison, Acuvue Oasys, another daily contacts brand, also promises UV protection, maximum moisture, and screen protection.

Below, we’ll explain the positives and negatives of Vista plus compared to similar contact lenses and subscription services. Need more information? Check out our guide to the best contact lenses you can get online.

The GlassesUSA.com website is very easy to use. There’s a clear contacts section in the navigation bar, so with one click, you’re able to access all of the contact lens brands that GlassesUSA.com carries. Because Vista plus is a new product, there are also call-out boxes on the homepage and at the top of the contacts page that link to a page describing Vista plus, where you can click to start a 10-day trial for $1.

Once you decide to purchase the trial contacts, you’re taken to a page where you can either enter your prescription (right and left eye power only) or upload your prescription. From there, you simply press “add to cart” and check out like you would for any other online shopping.

GlassesUSA.com offers free standard shipping on all orders to the USA and Canada. Estimates of when you’ll get your order for the US are within 7-10 business days, and 10-14 business days in Canada. GlassesUSA.com will also ship to “every country in the world” according to their FAQs, but countries outside the US and Canada will be charged shipping fees on standard shipping. After purchasing contacts, you should receive a link to track your order.

GlassesUSA.com Vista plus: Quality

Typically, our reviewer uses Acuvue Oasys daily contact lenses, so she compared the quality of Vista plus to that experience. Overall, the quality was very similar. There was no easily discernible difference in the short-term or long-term feel of Vista Plus compared to Acuvue Oasys. Both types of contacts are easy to put in and take out, and as daily contact lenses, both are thrown away at the end of the day so there is no difference in extended use.

Vista plus gives a list of instructions typical of any contact lenses, such as to wash your hands before touching them, to take the contacts out before sleeping, and to throw them away after one use.

There are, however, differences in the eye care technology used to create Vista plus that might affect breathability and fit. Vista plus lenses are made with etafilcon A and Acuvue Oasys lenses are made with senofilcon A. Other daily lenses may be made with different materials like verofilicon A or stenfilcon A. Some materials, like senofilcon A are said to be more breathable while others, like etafilcon A, may be more forgiving in the fit of base curve and diameter. In a clinical trial, participants rated senofilcon A contacts as a 9.2 out of 10 and etafilcon A contacts as an 8.8 out of 10.

Given that Vista plus contacts are offered with a standard base curve and diameter of 8.5 and 14.2mm respectively, being made with etafilcon A may offer a better fit for people outside of those measurements. Despite senofilcon A being said to be more breathable, our reviewer didn’t notice much of a difference between the two contact brands.

GlassesUSA.com Vista plus: Pricing options

The Vista plus subscription will cost you $32 per month, which is slightly cheaper than other contact subscription services like Hubble ($39 per month) and Sight Supply ($36 per month). The first ten pairs cost only $1 so you can try the contacts and see if you want to commit to them. As a bonus, GlassesUSA.com will send you a code for a free pair of prescription glasses up to $150 after you officially start your subscription and receive your first box of contacts.

You have the choice between a 30-day, 60-day, or 90-day subscription and unless you pause or cancel your plan, you’ll automatically receive the next shipment when the time period is close to ending.

GlassesUSA.com Vista plus: User reviews

As Vista plus lenses are a new product, there aren’t many reviews of the brand available. DayWithPhae on YouTube gave a video review calling the contacts “extremely, extremely comfortable.” While she promises the review is 100% her own and honest, the video is sponsored.

Overall, GlassesUSA.com has excellent reviews, earning a 4.5 with more than 36,000 reviews on Trustpilot. Unfortunately, none of the reviews on Trustpilot are for Vista plus, but of the reviews, people call out excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and easy ordering. Many of those who left bad reviews were upset at shipping delays.
