It includes many attractive templates and other helpful scrapbooking tools. You can access a tutorial from the main menu that walks you through the process of learning the software, and it’s easy enough to use that you shouldn’t have a problem navigating through its features.
To get started with Hallmark Scrapbook Studio, you can import images, objects, photos and clip art from a digital camera, scanner or any computer file. Hallmark offers all the importing options you’d expect, and you can import JPG and PNG images from your computer. However, when exporting you are limited to PDF files.
The special effects section of the software is noteworthy, with a broad assortment of effects and embellishments to choose from. This digital scrapbooking software also includes a nice selection of prefabricated templates and a variety of backgrounds, frames, borders and clip art. Being Hallmark software, many of the templates, even templates for journals and diaries, resemble greetings cards. Depending on your style, this can be a bonus or a negative, but you will have plenty of options to choose from.
Scrapbook Studio allows you to send your scrapbook creations out as email attachments or to save them to a file. There are only two default page sizes available when printing your creations, but you can manually adjust the pages to any size you wish. You can also save scrapbook projects to a disc or to a file on your PC. You can create a single scrapbook page layout. The software does not automatically create album categories for you, but you can do this manually. It lacks multimedia features, so there aren't any tools to help you add video or music clips.
The help section of the program is well written, logically organized and comprehensive. On the down side, Hallmark doesn’t provide an email address or telephone number for support, and there is only a brief FAQs section on the website.
