Black+Decker 20V MAX String Trimmer: Our verdict
The Black + Decker LSTE525 Cordless Lawn Trimmer is ideal for the average garden. It is user-friendly, easy to store, and has sufficient power to cut grass and soft weeds. It's capable of doing everything that most users will need it to do, and it demands very little specialist skill or knowledge.
Although it struggled with thick weeds during our testing, its compact trimming head is great for targeting individual weeds in tight spaces. The trimmer's guard also helped in trimming close to obstacles like trees and fences. It has a cutting width of 28 cm, which is narrower than most trimmers, but it makes it easier to control the tool over uneven terrain. The LSTE525 operates at around 88 dB, and its compact design makes it easy to store. It comes pre-loaded with a trimming line, which requires occasional replacement.
