There are a few things to look out for if you want to get the best outdoor furniture deal.
One: Do your research.
There are LOADS of brands and resellers that sell outdoor furniture, and they're all so different. It would be a good idea to check out your favorite stores to see what's available, then measure up to see if it'll fit your space. Try to imagine using the furniture, too, as this will give you a vision of how your yard could work best for you.
Two: Cross reference.
A quick Google search of the product you've shortlisted will display the retailers who stock it, and for how much.
While some retailers will display a price as "discounted", others may only show it as a list price, with no visible discount. Always err on the side of caution when you see this because it's likely that the garden furniture isn't on offer if only one reseller is displaying the price as discounted, whereas other a showing the same price as usual.
Three: Consult pricing history tools.
Browser extensions such as Honey and CamelCamelCamel can display the pricing history of products up to 120 days ago. Honey can be used with all resellers, whereas CamelCamelCamel is for use with Amazon-only.

When is the best time to shop for an outdoor furniture deal?
Knowing this will ensure that you can save top dollar, before you need it. Outdoor furniture is typically very seasonal. Sales events such as Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday are a chance for resellers to clear out stock from the summer, to make way for when new season furniture drops at the beginning of the following year.
However, it's unlikely that you'll actually be wanting to use your new garden furniture at this time so you'll need to find somewhere (or buy a cover) to safely store it. Other sales events such as Presidents' Day, Labor Day and 4th of July sales would be worth a look to save a bit, but we wouldn't expect to see discounts as deep as those from events later on in the year.
Are there good Presidents' Day outdoor furniture deals?
Presidents' Day was February 19. 2024 this year and while more outdoor furniture replenished the shelves of resellers, we didn't see many (if any) Presidents' Day outdoor furniture deals.
This may change next year, however. Each annual sales event is different year-on-year, and not all resellers (or brands) follow the same trend. For example, you may find that introductory offers is something that we see more of at the time of product launch, to make the newness more appealing.
Are the Memorial Day outdoor furniture deals worth it?
In 2024, Memorial Day landed on Monday, May 27, in honor of all the men and women who lost their lives while serving in the U.S. military. It just so happens that this commemorative day was at the beginning of summer, which gave brands and resellers alike the opportunity to shift some old stock and promote anything new with some deep discounts.
We started to see deep discounts in the couple of weeks prior to Memorial Day, with further reductions in the week leading up to the day. Home Depot and Lowe's wen't "live" with their Memorial Day sales, whereas resellers such as Amazon held off until closer to the date. The majority of the sales latest through 'till the end of May 27, while some remained until the end of the month.
Can I get 4th of July outdoor furniture deals?
It's very likely; yes. Summer vacation has either just started or is imminent for many families. While some may opt for more luxurious destinations, many will choose to make the most out of their backyard.
We expect many outdoor retailers to sell their wares at a discounted price in the run up to, and during the 4th of July sales, as this would be a popular time in the year to enjoy the sun. Retailers are going to be competing for your attention, so expect some price matching and under cutting of prices.
Is Labor Day a good time to shop for outdoor furniture deals?
The Labor Day deals and sale are a month-or-so prior to Amazon Prime Day. The time of year (September) is sailing close to early fall, although you could still expect to see some sunshine and warmth in the weather. This is going to be the time that you'll see some epic Labor Day outdoor furniture deals as retailers clear out SS24 stock to make space for more fall-appropriate products, i.e. Christmas.
Expect to see patio furniture sets, and chairs or tables sold separately and bundled (anything will go) offered to you at a discounted rate. You may even find that gazebos and parasols get their list prices knocked back too, meaning that you could kit out your outdoor seating area for way less than you could earlier on the year. You just won't have much of the year left to use it, so be prepared to store it—or protect it with outdoor furniture covers.
Are the Amazon Prime Day outdoor furniture deals worth checking out?
If you're a Prime member then "yes!". Amazon have continuous offers across their outdoor furniture category throughout the year, but you can expect deeper discounts when it comes to finding Prime Day deals. You may even stumble upon some exclusives.
What we saw last year was a swath of anti-prime day deals, too. This meant that resellers such as Best Buy, Lowe's and Home Depot were price matching, or offering a better deal, than Amazon were. You also didn't have to be signed up to a membership to take advantage of these lower prices either. It's all to play for.
Should I be shopping Black Friday outdoor furniture deals?
Definitely. Black Friday deals on outdoor furniture are worth shopping because it's your chance to buy stock at a heavily discounted price. This is so retailers can clear their warehouses to make way for new season items.
While you won't be buying a Black Friday outdoor furniture deal that is necessarily "on trend", what you will be getting is a dining or patio set (etc) at it's lowest ever price that can be used time-and-time again. You will just need to have the space to store it, and consider investing in an outdoor furniture cover to keep it protected during the harsher weather.
After Christmas outdoor furniture deals
This "lull" between Christmas and the start of the New Year is a golden opportunity for retailers to grab your attention while on holiday, and for you to shop an after Christmas sale for an outdoor furniture deal.
If the price for outdoor furniture wasn't its lowest ever during Black Friday, then it will be now. You may not have the same amount of choice as you had earlier on in the year, though, so to get something that you really want it would be better to look at Prime Day and Black Friday.

As with most things, you get what you pay for; and outdoor furniture is no exception. While cheaper bistro sets, for example, are a good investment when listing the house for sale to "dress the space", these often don't last a season because the materials used lack quality and the construction is flimsy.
This is the same scenario for cheaper lounge and patio sets. You may find that they aren't suitable to be left outside so rust within a year, or the included cushion covers start fraying and falling apart after hardly any use.
Getting cheap outdoor furniture will ultimately mean that you end up spending more money on replacement sets, so it would be worth aiming for the higher sales price to save money long-term. This doesn't mean that you have to spend a fortune, though. Keep looking out for outdoor furniture deals to make ensure that you are getting the best bang for your buck.
Will cheap outdoor furniture last?
We'd consider cheap outdoor furniture to be up to and around $100. This is usually a benchmark for folding camping chairs, loungers and bistro patio sets. Cheap outdoor furniture would be worth it for dressing a space that you plan on selling or if it is for occasional use and you're prepared for having to replace it within the next few years.
Of course, camping gear or items for a picnic does command a lower RRP so even though it may be a "cheap" price now, it doesn't mean that it won't last - it's merely because less time and materials have been used to make it which lowers the price.
