Hello there! I'm Amy Cutmore, Editor-in-Chief, Homes Audience, working across the Future Homes portfolio. I work on titles including Ideal Home, Homes & Gardens, Livingetc, Real Homes, Gardeningetc, Top Ten Reviews and Country Life. And I'm a winner of the PPA's Digital Content Leader of the Year.
I've been writing about interiors and tech for nearly 20 years – my first role was as a Features Writer, working on titles such as Inside Readers’ Homes, Inspirations for Your Home and Country House & Home, before joining TI Media (or as it was at the time, IPC). At Ideal Home, I served as Consumer and Technology Editor, before being promoted to Digital Editor in 2017. During my time on the title, I honed my expertise in 'everything with a plug', and ran tech blog, Girl About Tech, for five years – picking up an Amara Blog Award in the process.
Tech has taken me all over the world, I've visited washing machine factories in, among other places, Slovenia, South Korea, and Slough. I've visited Samsung's sprawling headquarters in Suwon, joined a Panasonic product development panel in Osaka, and trawled the halls of CES in Las Vegas, IFA in Berlin and Eurocucina in Milan too many times to count.
If I were to pick my all-time favourite pieces of tech, they would be, in no particular order, my Sonos music system, Bose QC headphones, the original iPod, Dualit toasters and the Nintendo GameBoy. Oh, and my KitchenAid Artisan mixer, which has been by my side as long as my other half and has aged just as well!
